Apart from his eccentric aesthetic, Jidenna continues to impress his ever increasing following with his diverse approach to Hip-Hop. Though his music is structured in modern day’s formula for Pop and Rap singles, he carries a unique integration of Nigerian and Caribbean vibes that give this full work a solid foundation for his very distinctive brand. Tracks like “Bambi,” and “The Chief Don’t Run” showcase just how his creative infusions take on a fresh, almost new genre of their own. Yet, he includes those monster beats under heavy wordplay that Hip-Hop purists will enjoy. “Long Live The Chief,” and “2 Points” gives just that. And you can’t forget the club anthem that even got Kendrick Lamar’s involvement for the remix, “Classic Man.”
