When retro soul artist, Leon Bridges first came on the scene with his debut album “Coming Home,” back in 2015, his bluesy sound and charming stage presence was exciting, but couldn’t quite fit in with the pop community. Not to say that there weren’t standout singles. Tracks like the upbeat “Smooth Sailin,” or soulfully rich “River,’ granted him a devoted fan base, but Bridges opportunity to not just excel on the outliers of the mainstream music industry might be with “You Don’t Know.” The eight track off his most recent work, “Good Thing,” released earlier this month, is a bass-thumping groove, full of funk and modern sensitivity. Undeniably radio ready, I’m hoping Bridges can finally break through!
