Bay area idol, E-40 teamed up with long time friend and cousin B-Legit for a joint album released early last month titled, “Connected & Respected.” With the help of new school rhymer P-lo for the chorus, their single “Boy” off the record has gained some traction. The uptempo, hyperactive instrumental gives way for not only P-Lo to spit traditional California vernacular, but passes it on to E-40 with his animated style. B-legit also takes advantage of the simulated handclaps and simmering Bass to display his deep grandiososo. Overall, this single slaps, and easily one of the Bay area’s best hits this year.
