Buffalo-based artist CMarP has been a wallflower within the hip-hop community for a while. He’s watched, observed, and absorbed the culture, but now he’s fully arrived. Dropping his debut single “Feel Me” early last month, the rising lyricist takes his time against brisk boom-bap production by staple producer Anna West. From the early beat breathe, to explaining his journey, to the infectious chorus “Just hoping that they feel me/ through the rhymes, between the lines is the real me/ I’m only focused on the things that fulfill me,” CMarP intentions are riddled throughout the track. It’s a song you’ll have to give a few listens to just for the sheer artistry. A well-crafted introduction for an someone who’s here to stay. Listen below.
